Book of the Month
The always lush and inspiring Elysion played host to my chic look today, although I have to confess that this little library was the third picture-capturing location I tried within the region, as there were some rather … ardent couples who decided to take up residence nearby when I was photographing. Not that there’s anything wrong with that! No, the sensual energy was distracting in the most appealing way. But I do get flustered easily, so I found a quiet perch in a lovely loft and set about getting my picture done.
One of the things I’ve really come to love about regions with rez-enabled is that I’m able to use pose balls for exact positioning, and the Lyrium Beach Pose Collection not only comes with a super handy HUD, but the pose balls are also included for maximum versatility, which is brilliant and so thoughtful. Some wonderful finds from the current rounds of Kustom9, Shiny Shabby, and Cosmopolitan completed the look. Have you visited all the June events that are wrapping up by month’s end? I’m so far behind! But it’s been a beautiful month, and I can’t wait to greet July with arms open wide. I hope June has been wonderful for you too! ♡

Warm, summery welcomes to a bright new week, my loves! This week will be a quieter one for words, I suspect, but in all the best possible ways. Usually my ‘deeper’ posts are stoked and provoked, stirred and yearned, from places of either nostalgia and memory, or thoughtful disquiet. That’s not quite the right word … think of a calm pool of water that has been disturbed by a drop of a stone, sometimes feather-light, and other times weighing a ton or more. When my mind stays calm and rested, there just isn’t as much I’m compelled to say. Ah bless, that makes me sound either enlightened or stoned, haha! Neither of which is the case I’m afraid, but I think you’re pickin’ up what I’m puttin’ down. I just feel … happy. Blissfully at peace. So I’ll just let the clothes (or in this case, the delightfully cheeky Sharkini by TETRA) do the talking. I hope you’re all having a marvelous summer so far. Lots of love! ♡

Happiest of Sundays, dear ones! I’m tip-tappin’ my fingers like they’re on fire to try to get this up in the wee hours of the morning, as my parents are visiting today and I, well … may or may not have left the cleaning and sundry until the very last minute. Procrastinator: who, me? Well yes, yes indeedy. But technically isn’t it their fault since I’m the lovable and faultless offspring? Yes, that works for me quite nicely! ♡
When I put on the Khloe dress by Ricielli, I loved the iridescent, deep blue-violet-silver color that really shone with materials enabled. It gave me a bit of a futuristic vibe, so I went to a place I’ve been meaning to visit for years but never have: Insilico! There are several regions under the Insilico banner, so I chose the North one at random and only made it about 20 feet from the landing zone. (Story of my life lately!) This picture was kind of a quick edit and perhaps my not my finest work, but we’re always our own harshest critics, hey? I still love the spacey vibe, and I definitely plan to visit again and explore further. And if you’re jonesing for a mood-setting tune to go with this pic, the heart-thumping “End of Line” by Daft Punk from the TRON: Legacy soundtrack was my inspiration.

Birthday Wish
It’s my First Life birthday! Today I turn 25 … again (and again). Such a joy and a pleasure for time to kindly allow me to stay at this tender age for another year more. ♡
Speaking of time, I reached back into my youthful memories and thought about a game I used to play when I was younger: if I could have anything at all for my birthday, what would it be? My desires back then were generally superficial and simple: I wanted to be shorter, to have blonde hair, to look just like Becky Leigh (the petite, honey-haired heartbreaker who was the recipient of every boy’s “Do you like me? Circle YES or NO” missives). These days, I’m glad to say my desires are more esoteric and thoughtful, though no more achievable. Simply put: if I could have anything at all for my birthday, I would have more time.

My picture was taken at the beautiful Follow Your Bliss region, a perfectly named and wonderfully picturesque place with many lovely scenes and sights to explore. I was particularly fond of the Gone to the Beach sign, as that pure expression of “I’m taking a day off just for me” is something that I haven’t done in a long, long while. Time has been an elusive and evasive entity of late, slip-sliding through my hands like sand through a sieve. And just as in the song’s lyrics, I don’t want to lose anything or let anyone down, but standing on the dawn of a new year in my life, I know that changes have to be made. After all, you know you have an issue with time management when you’re frustrated with yourself that you’re once more getting 7 – 8 hours of sleep a night, rather than the 4 hour naps you were subsisting on. I like to say that I can sleep when I’m dead, but I’d rather get to that point with a leisurely stroll, and not by face-desking after a 70 hour SL-and-Flickr bender. Although I’m sure there are worse ways to go. ;)
So my hope is that I can be gentle with myself and take a breather and a reminder that things can wait for a day; putting yourself first is self-care, not unkindly selfish. But if any of you does happen to have some pull with Father Time, would you sweet-talk him into sparing a few hours for me? ♡
